The garden is still a jungle, though Eddie has been bushwhacking like mad, and even I've been inveigled into the weeding. Here's a little tour from this morning: From the bottom of the garden, looking up (North) at the house (anybody know what the spiky plant with the long lily-looking flower stalks is?):

Turning 180 degrees, looking south from the bottom of the garden, with the shed on the left:

Rose Alley, going up (North) the West side of the house:

A glance into the central garden on our right (that huge mound in the middle is a fuchsia bush):

A dew-bespeckled rose:

Looking back down into the garden from the foliage tunnel on the west side of the house (which you can see out the kitchen window):

Fuchsia from the front yard (this is a volunteer that started last year, and is already as tall as I am):

View of the front yard, facing West, herb garden in far right corner:

View of the garage, through the palm-thingie and the mint:

View of the back garden from up by the garage, on the East side:

Fresh veggies today from CSA-GTF:

Really, sometimes it is the simplest things that strike my eye. Like this small bouquet, cobbled together from broken stems while trimming the roses in the yard. And how the light glows through the outermost petals, and the little shine of blue from the floral marbles at the bottom of the vase. I love that the largest rose has a subtle tinge of coral to the pink, too. And everything goes so well with our new couch. This is about as much interior decorating as I do! But I get a lovely warm feeling from it.
Hope you're having a great weekend! =)
